INTERPOL is an intergovernmental organization that facilitates international police cooperation. INTERPOL was founded in 1923 in Vienna, Austria, as the International Criminal Police Commission. It was later renamed INTERPOL in 1956. It is currently headquartered in Lyon, France, and has 194 member countries. It provides expectives investigative support and training to law enforcement agencies across the world.
