Oligarchy
Oligarchy is a form of government in which power is held by a small group of people, typically the wealthy elite. It is often associated with corrupt and oppressive rule. Aristotle: Aristotle believed that oligarchy was a perversion of aristocracy, where rule was by the best individuals, rather than the best class. Plato: In "The Republic," Plato discussed the difference between aristocracy and oligarchy, and warned of the dangers of allowing wealth to determine political power.
